Julian Whaley has worked as a private
consultant specializing in forensic plant pathology for more than 25 years.
Julian received his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of
Arizona. He also has a BS in Biology from West Liberty State College
and an M.S. in Plant Pathology from West Virginia University. Julian
taught at California State University, Fresno for 22 years in the Plant
Science Department while establishing his forensic consulting business on a
part-time basis. Since 1993 Julian has developed his agricultural

Mark Steinberg has specialized in
forensic plant pathology since 1982. He graduated from Humboldt State
University in 1976 with a B.S. in Botany. He received his Masters in
Plant Science from California State University, Fresno (1979) and his Ph.D.
in Plant Pathology from the University of Arizona (1982). Mark is a
licensed California Pest Control Adviser, a Board certified Professional
Plant Pathologist and a certified Crop Adviser. Mark’s experience in
forensic plant pathology includes investigations in California and
neighboring states as well as Hawaii, Mexico, and South America. For Mark

John Hagen has been a Professor of
Agricultural Economics at California State University, Fresno since 1969.
His primary areas of expertise are agricultural business management and
marketing, statistics, and agricultural policy. He has extensive
experience in working with the agribusiness industry, developing economic
feasibility studies, market analysis, and general management projects. Dr.
Hagen has served as a forensic agricultural economist for over ten years.

Byron Gabrielsen
is a certified Crop Adviser and has conducted forensic agronomy
investigations since 1989. Byron received his Ph.D. degree in Agronomy
from Colorado State University. Byron was employed as a research agronomist
with the US Department of Agriculture and has been an instructor of Plant
Science at Kings River Community College.
